Tia Brown began writing cosy fiction by accident when she joined a 'Writing for Pleasure and Profit' evening class after the class she’d planned to join didn't run because not enough people signed up.

One of the assignments was to write a short story for a woman's magazine so she did her homework because that’s the sort of person she is. The next week's session was on how to send it to an editor. She did that too, and much to her surprise, they bought it, so she wrote some more Over the next decade, she sold over six hundred short stories to magazines including Bella, Best, Chat, My Weekly, People's Friend Take a Break and That's Life.

Then the market gradually diminished and life sent her down a different path, and her dream of writing mysteries and romances got put on hold. Now she's back on track, armed with what she's learned from being a carer.
