Biography of paola dionisotti

I was born in Turin, Italy, in 1946. My family moved to England in late 1948, eventually settling in London in 1952 when my father accepted the newly founded Chair of Italian at Bedford College.

My journey with the arts began at St.

Paul’s Girls’ School in London, where I first encountered Shakespeare. For the next seven years, I studied drama and elocution under the guidance of Gloria Bax, a profound influence on my early development.

I continued my passion for the performing arts, training for three years at the recently established Drama Centre in Chalk Farm, London, under notable instructors including Yat Malmgren, John Blatchley, Christopher Fettes, Doreen Cannon and Julian Dawes.

While I have worked in television, film, and radio, my heart remains with the theatre, my first choice and enduring preference.

My mainstream theatre experience includes performances at the Royal Court, West End, Young Vic, National Theatre, Royal Shakespeare Company, and various repertory theatres
